Port Douglas

On our first morning we went to a cafe and saw Mrs Baker from school.  She was having a holiday too and it was good to see her.  Then we went to Mossman Gorge.  It was cool.  We did a board walk and saw lots of birds.  Then we did a 2km circuit walk which took a very long time.  We saw some nice forrest and waterways.  We had lunch and some brush turkeys kept annoying us and one jumped up onto the table.  In the afternoon we went to the Daintree Village and we went on a boat cruise down the Daintree River.  Our tour guides was Bruce.  We saw a Azure Kingfisher, a green tree frog, a python and we saw 2 big crocs.  We went to Cape Tribulation and did some more walks which were fun and went to some beaches.  The first one was Kulki beach and then Myall beach.  They were both beautiful.  We did a day trip out to the Great Barrier Reef.  The weather was really bad and it was a rough ride.  I felt really sick and had to sit with a wet towel around my neck and suck on ice cubes.  When we got to the reef there was a big pontoon in the middle of the ocean.  We got off and had some lunch and did some snorkeling.  I put on goggles, a snorkel and flippers.  We saw lots of fish swimming all around us.  Mum took me out to the middle of the area and we saw a giant clam and lots of beautiful coral.  We also went in a semi-submersible boat.  It took us all over the reef.  It was a great day.
