Tom Price

At Tom Price we only stayed one night.  Early the next morning we went to the information centre and got on a bus to go on a tour of the Mt Tom Price iron-ore mine.  The tour guides name was Bob and the tour was good.  The bus took us all around the mine. We got out at a lookout and had a view over the huge open pit where they get the iron-ore from.  The big dump trucks cart the iron-ore from the pits up to the crushing plants.  It is then crushed into different sizes and put into big stock piles.  Then it gets loaded onto trains.  It is one of the biggest iron-ore mines in the world and it was interesting to see how it works.
