We went to the Boab Prison tree. It was a stop over for all the Aboriginal prisoners that were transported on foot from outback areas to Derby. They would stay in the trunk of the tree overnight. This tree was 14 metres around. Then the prisoners were shipped off to work on the pearling boats. We saw the old jail they used then went and had fish and chips on the pier and watched the sun go to bed.

This is 120m long bore fed cattle trough.
It could hold 500 bullocks drinking at the same time. |
