Jordan's Trip: Point Samson

At Point Samson our first couple of days were a bit lazy. It was a nice caravan park with real roads and lots of grass that looked over the ocean. A nice change from all the red dust at Karijini. We went to Cossack. It has old historical buildings. They were amazing. Dennis and Marion that we have seen on our travels since the Bungle Bungles were here too. We went to Karratha for a day trip and also to Dampier to see the Red Dog Memorial. Next we went to the Woodside Visitors Centre and saw the gas plant through a big window that over looked the whole plant. It was huge. We learnt about the gas and how they get it from the rigs out in the ocean back to the main land and then make it into liquid and load it onto big ships to send to overseas companies. Then we went back to Karratha to do some shopping. I got a new dress and we all got an ice-cream. I made a wall hanging with Marion. Dennis had to drill holes in the piece of drift wood that we found and one hole in each of the shells that i chose. Then had to have beads, jewellery wire, shells, fishing line, a hook and some clamps to make it. It was a lot of fun and i liked what i ended up making. It is very pretty. We made it out of some of the shells we found at Eighty Mile Beach. I went swimming and snorkeling with mum and dad and the boys. We saw some fish and found some nice stripy rocks. I collected a few. Four whales swam past the caravan park. I even saw them flap their tail fins.
